Our conversations often center on our struggles and the things we are believing God for. We speak aloud, while others remain in our thoughts. When something feels pressing, difficult, or even exciting, our minds can keep turning it over as we try to understand what comes next.

Even when we know an assignment is from God, we can still feel unsettled. We begin asking, “What steps should I take? How do I move from here to there?” Before long, we start creating our own plans for what He has called us to do. We become so busy doing the work that we forget to include God in the planning. We may assume He told us to go and that the rest is up to us.

Scripture reminds us that we are co-laborers with God, but He is the leader.

1 Corinthians 3:9 , “For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building” (ESV).

When a farmer owns a field, he begins with a plan. He knows what needs done and prepares the field to produce a harvest. He purchases the equipment, hires the necessary help, plows the ground, adds nutrients when needed, and plants the seed. Even after planting, the field still requires care.

If the field is large, the farmer may hire workers to help. He gives directions, provides the tools, and lays out the work. The workers have a significant role, but the field still belongs to the farmer. The responsibility for the harvest rests with the one who owns the field.

When we receive an assignment from our Heavenly Father, we are His co-laborers. That means the weight of the assignment does not rest on us alone. He invites us to participate in His work, and He provides every tool required to accomplish it.

Somewhere along the way, we can lose sight of the truth that He is the builder. We begin to believe we must figure everything out ourselves, raise the finances, gather the tools, and carry the full load, wearing ourselves out. That is not what He intended for us. But we are not the boss. When God calls us to something, He provides everything necessary as we stay in our lane and allow Him to lead.

In Christ, we can accomplish everything He asks us to do. He is not asking for self-sufficiency; He is asking for our yes. When we say yes, obey, and trust Him, His provision meets us there.

The blessing is in the yes. In the natural world, it may look like we do not have what we need—and on our own, we do not. But God works beyond the natural. He does not ask, “Do you have enough?” He says, “Trust Me. I have everything you will need.”

So how does this work in daily life? We stay close to Him. We pray, spend quiet time in His presence, read the Word, fast, and make ourselves ready to hear His voice. This is not something we do occasionally; it is a continual posture of seeking Him.

Deuteronomy 4:29 says, “But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity) the Lord your God, you will find Him if you truly seek Him with all your heart and mind and soul and life” (AMPC).

When the Lord told Dan and me that we were not going to start a church but instead would minister under a tent and in churches through meetings and conferences, we sought Him for direction. We asked what He wanted us to do and trusted Him to lead us.

When we left for our first meeting, we had almost nothing. We traveled across the country with only $800, which was not even enough to cover gas. We slept in the truck the first night. In the natural, it looked impossible.

There was blessing in the going. Provision came when we became serious about obedience. We trusted Him, put our faith into action, and moved forward with nothing else in our hands. What we needed came through Christ, not through our own strength. Our yes met His supply.

If God has given you an assignment, do not let what you lack become louder than what He has spoken. Your responsibility is not to carry the full weight of the outcome; your responsibility is to seek Him, obey Him, and move forward as He leads. He already knows every need, every obstacle, and every provision required for the journey.

So, give Him your yes. Take the next step in faith. Trust that the One who called you is faithful to equip you. As you walk with Him, His wisdom will guide you, His strength will sustain you, and His provision will meet you exactly where obedience begins.
